CENTRAL VALLEY-The Democratic Alliance will sponsor a community meeting on the impacts of casino gambling at the Central Valley Elementary School on Sunday, May 1, at 2 p.m. While Gov. George Pataki has withdrawn his support for the "five casino plan," the situation remains highly fluid. "Those in Orange County who have strong reservations about the wholesale dedication of Sullivan County to the gambling/gaming industry need to continue to be resolved and to organize," said Michael Sussman, the event's organizer, in a press release. Leaders of the opposition to casino gambling from Sullivan County are expected to attend the community meeting. The alliance also expects to create a committee of local residents to stay on top of this issue. Central Valley Elementary school is located on Route 32 in Central Valley.
