Goshen — The Empowerment Center Community Garden will sponsor "Toast to the Harvest," featuring New York State wines and seasonal hors d'oeuvres, from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25 at the center's garden, Broadlea Rd. off Knoell Rd. in Goshen. The non-profit community-supported organic garden, in operation since 1995, is located on property owned by the Sisters of St. Dominic, Blauvelt. The garden allows families to grow nutritious food for themselves. The center also provides a working classroom for students and families from the South Bronx to learn about crop cultivation. The event, which will also feature music and local art, is a fundraiser to defray the cost of new equipment and repairs. Tickets are $20. For more information, call Carole Keaney at 294-3181 or Maura Rose at 342-2459.
