Come hear the 'Fire & Sun'

WARWICK — The E’lissa Jones Band and her Wire Choir Orchestra will be showcasing many new songs from her latest release at the Railroad Green Concert series on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 7:30 p.m.

Jones released her long-awaited “black” CD, "Fire & Sun" just last week at the Warwick Valley Winery and will be continuing performances of the material throughout the rest of the summer.

This new CD catches the fire and showcases the sun in a variety of musical styles indicative of the performer's background.

Jones was named Hudson Valley's Singer/Songwriter of the Year (2010) and Hudson Valley’s Best Multitalented Musician (2012) and has performed background vocals with blues legend Wilson Pickett touring with Ray Charles, Al Green and others. She has also opened for legend Pete Seeger as well as Steve Forbert and has played violin for performer Bobby Vee.

Her band in comprised of well-known musicians from the Hudson Valley: Mickey Kopchak on bass, John Bendy and Mark McNutt on guitar and Michael Robert Hickey on drums.

On Saturday evening, The Steve Vecchiotti band will open the concert at 6 p.m. with the E'lissa Jones Band headlining at 7:30 p.m.
