College exhibition to feature local artwork

    Middletown — Artwork by 30 of the Hudson Valley’s many talented artists will be on view from March 2 through April 6, in the Orange Hall Gallery at Orange County Community College, in a new exhibit entitled “History and Historic Sites of the Hudson Valley: Paintings, Drawings, Photographs.” The show will offer attendees the opportunity of viewing history through art. The Hudson Valley is rich in history, whether it be battlegrounds, buildings or other historic sites. The artwork will include historic sites important in art, architecture, government, battles, engineering, farming and nature. Exhibit hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m.to 5 p.m. on Friday and during events in Orange Hall Theater. During a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 4 that celebrates the show and the artists, music will be provided by Judith Hosmer Garrett, pianist, who is a resident of Montgomery. This Lyceum event is presented by Cultural Affairs and is free and open to the public. Call 341-4891.
