Classic comedies part of film series

    Middletown — Three comedy classics will be featured in upcoming screenings of the Lyceum Comedy Film Series at Orange County Community College. All screenings will be held at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesdays in Harriman Hall, 111 Film Theatre, corner of Wawayanda and East Conkling Avenues, Middletown. Doors open at 6:55 p.m. The schedule is as follows: • “Sleeper,” written and directed by and starring Woody Allen, on Tuesday, March 6. Introduced by Richard Heppner, assistant vice-president of academic affairs, Liberal Arts. • “Young Frankenstein,” directed by Mel Brooks, starring Gene Wilder, on Tuesday, March 27. Introduced by Steve Harpst, director of student activities. • “Hairspray,” directed and written by John Waters, on Tuesday, April 10. Introduced by Richard Heppner, assistant vice-president of academic affairs, Liberal Arts. General admission is $2. Students will be admitted free of charge.
