C.J. Hooker students learn the ropes

    GOSHEN-Students in grades 6 through 8 at the C. J. Hooker Middle School in Goshen recently participated in a "Challenge by Choice" ropes course adventure at the Ring Homestead Camp in Circleville. The trip's purpose was to promote teamwork, cooperation, leadership, citizenship, and problem solving skills, as emphasized in the students' Advisory class, which is held in the beginning of the day. While at the camp, the students, along with Advisory teacher Debbie Moneymaker, were challenged to climb up trees, cargo nets, or tires in order to reach a zip line, high wire walk, or trapeze. They also participated in low rope activities that strengthened their communication skills and teamwork. The students who attended were Dennis Brigman, Brittany DiPeri, Emily Manning, Thomas O'Connell, Ermendi Perez, Kasey Sarles, Katelyn Wright, Matt Gaine, Nicole DeSantis, Karyn Giordano, Daniel Kelly, Kirandeep Kaur, Cody Lallathin, Kaila Anderson, and Emily Hernandez.
