Central Valley — On Saturday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m., Citizens for the Impeachment of George Bush and Dick Cheney will host a forum and workshop at the Central Valley Elementary School, 45 Route 32, Central Valley. Topics covered in the forum will be: “What is impeachment and why is it done?”, “What grounds are there for their impeachment?”, “Why not just wait for the next election to rectify things?”, and “What can we do?” Informational material will be available. FINK, a Middletown band, will lead off with songs relevant to the issue. Citizens for Impeachment is a grassroots, non-partisan movement that grew out of concern about new powers being exercised in the executive branch. The group sponsored a similar meeting in Warwick on Aug. 7. As a result of that event, groups were formed to arrange meetings with Rep. John Hall and Rep. Maurice Hinchey, petitions were signed and distributed, and people wrote or called Congress. This event welcomes anyone concerned with threats to Constitutional rights and to the balance of power in our government, or merely those curious about why impeachment is now being discussed.
