Church to sponsor garden party fundraiser
Tuxedo Park St. Mary’s-in-Tuxedo will be sponsoring a Family Garden Party on Sunday, June 3, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the home of the Myers-Elkins Family, Circuit Road, Tuxedo Park. The party will feature the talent of young musicians from the community and beyond, performing works for violin, cello, viola and piano. Food, and the finest tea and Pimms Cup in Tuxedo Park will be served. Proceeds will support children and families impacted by HIV/AIDS in South Africa through the organization known as CARRYOU Ministry. St. Mary’s has been supporting CARRYOU for the last five years. Donations have enabled food to be distributed; hygiene and AIDS education to be taught; school uniforms, shoes, and books to be bought for orphans; caregivers to be trained and paid stipends for their work; “drop-in centers” established to provide the children with meals, counseling and practical assistance; and bicycles to be supplied to transport the caregivers to their patients. Ticket prices are $25 per person or $75 per family. All checks should be made payable to St. Mary’s-in-Tuxedo, memo: CARRYOU.
