Church holds 41st annual chicken BBQ

    Chester — The Chester Presbyterian Church will hold their annual Chicken BBQ on Saturday, July 8, at 94-96 Main St. in Chester. The menu will consist of tomato juice, dinner rolls, the church’s special coleslaw, barbecued chicken-half, baked potato, and corn. Iced tea, coffee, and milk will be available, along with homemade brownies and ice cream for dessert. The congregation has an active Sunday School and summer Vacation Bible School. It houses the Chester Presbyterian Nursery School, and is the distribution center for the Chester Community Food Pantry. The church serves several community dinners each year, sponsors Boy Scout Troop 152, and provides space for several support groups. Tickets are $9 for adult, $8 for senior citizens, $4 for children from 6 to 12 years old, and no charge for children 5 and under. For advance reservations, which is recommended, call 469-4311.
