Chorale to offer holiday concert

WARWICK The Warwick Valley Chorale will perform “Christmas Celebration” by Henry Mollicone and “The Seven Joys of Christmas” by Kirke Mechem, together with a variety of other Christmas and Hanukkah favorites, in two locations. The first concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, at the North Congregational Church on 157 Linden Ave. in Middletown. The second concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, at the Warwick Reformed Church at 16 Maple Ave. in Warwick. Stanley Curtis, a retired associate professor of music at Orange County Community College and currently the senior choir director at the Warwick Reformed Church, has been the chorale’s director since 1986. Gail Johnson, the accompanist, has been with the chorale for the past eleven years. The chorale offers concerts in two locations in Orange County twice a year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Rehearsals for the spring concert will begin in January, and the chorale is seeking new singers, of all ages and abilities.
