Chester Academy students set to venture “Into the Woods”

    Chester — Chester Academy will present its musical, “Into the Woods, Jr.” Students in grades 4 through 12 are working hard to prepare this district-wide performance, with a surprise guest actor debuting as Cinderella’s stepmother. The cast is very large, with as many as 90 performers and student helpers. Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Baker, Baker’s Wife, Jack and the Witch are some of the many characters in this exciting and intertwined fairytale. Shawn Binder, Kelly VanDemark, Jamie Kracht, Kelly Clemenza, Gabrielle Fletcher and Michael Suazo are some of the many actors who will lead an unforgettable journey into the woods, to meet many other unique characters who sing and dance. “Into the Woods, Jr.” is on stage in the Chester Academy Auditorium on Friday, Jan. 19, Saturday, Jan. 20 and Sunday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. Directing and Choreographing the show is Rachel Scali, and the Musical/Technical Director is Thomas Venable. Tickets will be sold at the door all three nights and may be purchased ahead of time at either Chester Elementary or Chester Academy. Tickets need to be picked up at the time and place of purchase. Pre-paid tickets will not be held at the door. Checks can be made payable to Chester Union Free School District and can be given to Patty Feierman (Chester Elementary security desk) or Rachel Scali (Chester Academy).
