Chamber, United Way to co-host golf outing on May 31
Goshen The Orange County Chamber of Commerce and Orange County United Way will present the Ninth Annual Orange Open Golf Challenge on Thursday, May 31, at Otterkill Golf Club, Stony Ford Golf Course and Winding Hills Golf Course. TD Banknorth and Provident Bank are host sponsors. Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield is the Benefactor Sponsor. Media sponsors are the Times Herald-Record, Time Warner Cable and Cumulus Broadcasting. The host sponsors will also present a Million Dollar Hole-in-One Competition. Player positions are still available at Stony Ford and Winding Hills. Registration at Stony Ford begins at 10 a.m., with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start. The $150 per person fee includes cart, greens fees, souvenir bag and gifts, continental breakfast, on-course barbecue lunch and the awards reception at Otterkill Golf Club. Registration at Winding Hills begins at noon, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The $125 fee includes cart, greens fees, lunch, souvenir bag and gifts and awards reception at Otterkill, as well as a “foursome pays for only three” round of golf at Winding Hills. A special Ladies Challenge Event, sponsored by Walden Savings Bank, will be held again this year. The Orange Open has raised an average of $80,000 each year since its inception.
