Celebrate the day of the horse

Goshen — The “National Day of the Horse” will be celebrated from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Harness Racing Museum at 240 Main St. in Goshen. Speakers will outline horse activities available in the area. This would include the New York State Horse Council, Orange County horse Council, G&M Riding Club in Montgomery, New York Southern Tier Quarter Horse Association, 4-H Club, Intercollegiate Club, dressage, Pony Club, and Gymkhana. Some groups will be promoting their riding stables, such as one of the veterans from Pine Bush Equine will speak. Chip Watson will lead a session on grooming a horse the June Evers’ Way, and promoting his book “The Ultimate Guide to Pampering Your Horse.” Seating will be limited.
