Camera Works 2006' travels to new location

Sugar Loaf - “Camera Works 2006” is moving to the Lycian Gallery in Sugar Loaf after its showing at the Fieldstone Gallery in Washingtonville. “Camera Works 2006” is a juried photographic exhibition by the Hudson Highlands Photo Workshop, a group of amateur, semi-professional and professional photographers. This exhibit of 50 fine art prints will include the work of James Mellozzo of Central Valleyy, who also is the president of the Orange Federation of the Arts. “I like to use light and shadow to add depth and mood in my black and white images,” Mellozzo said. “When I shoot in color, I look for contrast, texture and overall composition. I try to let photography be my freedom.” The Lycian Gallery is located at the Lycian Centre for the Performing Arts on Kings Highway in Sugar Loaf. The opening reception for the exhibit is from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, and will include wine-tasting and refreshments. The exhibit runs from Oct. 4 through Nov. 4, with viewing times from Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information regarding the exhibit or for directions to the Lycian Gallery, contact the gallery at 845-496-3661.
