Butler Dance Institute holds recital June 11

Washingtonville - The Joan Butler Institute of Dance in Warwick and Monroe will hold its annual recital on Sunday, June 11, at 2 p.m. in Washingtonville High School. There will be approximately 150 students, from ages three to adult, who be performing dances featuring ballet, jazz, Pointe, tap, hip hop as well as gymnastics and Ballroom. This year all the teen and adult dancers will perform “The Wooden Soldiers” as the grand finale. Another highlight is expected to be Butler’s son, Greg, and her granddaughter, Jacquie, performing to “Jump Shout Boogie.” Alumni are invited to celebrate. The performances were produced and directed by Butler, who is celebrating her 25th anniversary. Tickets can be purchased for $10 at the door or one of the studios.
