Monroe - Cordially Yours, the welcome service of the Monroe-Woodbury area, will collect everyday items for soldiers serving overseas at the Monroe Cheese Festival on Saturday, Sept. 9. “The men and women serving over in the Middle East and other places around the world look to our donations to raise their spirits,” said Alicia D’Amico of Cordially Yours. “It’s a reminder that they haven’t been forgotten. And to send them items at non-holiday times sure proves that point. Let’s make an effort to keep sending these much needed supplies until they all come home.” Recommended items include: soups, cereals, coffee, socks, work gloves, eye drops, foot powder, writing pads, zip lock bags, toiletries and individual packaged powdered drinks. A more detailed list can be gotten at the Cordially Yours web site: www.CordiallyYoursOnTheWeb.com or by calling its message center at 845-781-4079.
