New Windsor — The Orange County Chamber of Commerce’s 14th annual EXPO business trade show will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Anthony’s Pier 9, Route 9W South, New Windsor. “In response to requests from exhibitors and sponsors,” said EXPO Co-Chairman Tony Martine, “the decision was made last year to expand the hours and present the show on just one day. This way, exhibitors will be able to maximize their investment while reducing the time needed to be part of the area’s premier business showcase.” New to this year’s EXPO is the Orange County Business Idol competition in which small business owners will make short presentations about their businesses. The winner will receive a marketing makeover worth more than $18,000. Eight corporate sponsors and five media sponsors are supporting EXPO 2006. Corporate sponsors are: Advance Testing Company, Inc.; Cellular One; Elant, Inc.; Health Quest; Mansfield Commercial Real Estate; Mount Saint Mary College; Provident Bank; and Weaver Gas. Media sponsors are: Clear Channel Radio of the Hudson Valley (Star 93.3, Kiss 96.1, 92.1 and 99.3 Litefm, WRWD), Sunrise Broadcasting (FOX 96.7/103.1, Oldies 1220/1490), Hudson Valley Business Journal, MidHudsonNews.com and the Times Herald-Record. A Chamber mixer, with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and reduced drink prices, will be held for exhibitors and members from 5-7 p.m. Admission to EXPO is $5, with all proceeds donated to the Orange County United Way. EXPO Co-Chairs are Joan Scumaci (Hudson Valley Awards) and Tony Martine (APM Enterprises). A few booths, at $495 each, are still available. More than 4,000 people visited last year’s EXPO, which included more than 200 booths.
