Bus trip planned to Olana, home of Hudson River painter

    Montgomery — A bus trip is planned to visit the Olana State Historic Site in Hudson, home of Frederic Edwin Church (1826-1900), one of the major figures in the Hudson River School of landscape painting. Olana is one of the few intact artists' home, studio and estate complexes in the United States. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965. The Friends Of Hill-Hold And Brick House is sponsoring the trip. The bus will leave Hill-Hold Museum in Montgomery at 8:30 a.m. The $75 cost includes the tour and lunch at Beeckman Arms in Rhinebeck.
