New Windsor —It started as a simple table top display of local products and services, but has now grown to a premier showcase for the residential building contractor and all affiliated services. Plans are being finalized for the 25th Annual Trade Show of the Builders Association of the Hudson Valley, Inc. set for Thursday, March 1, at Anthony’s Pier 9, New Windsor. Signed on as corporate sponsors for the event are: Black Millwork Company; Central Hudson Gas and Electric; Rose and Kiernan Inc.; Stewart Title Insurance Co.; Strober Building Supply; Lupine Construction Corp; and Weaver Gas. With over 135+ exhibits of the latest products and services, the one-day professional trade show will be open from 2 to 7:30 p.m. This one-day format has worked well over the years. “The Committee reviews the format regularly, but we still feel a one day show is the way to go,” noted Show Chairman Bob Merkl of Strober Building Supply, who is co-chairing the event with Brian Rivenburgh, also of Strober. “Time is at a premium for both exhibitors and attendees. “With a one day show - everyone makes a concerted effort to use the day well, showcasing their newest products and services. For the builder or remodeler, it’s a wise investment of a few hours of their time to connect with suppliers and service providers that are important to their business.” There is no admission charge to industry members, but a business card or company bill head is required. Members of the public may attend at a nominal entry fee. Of Anthony’s Pier 9, Merkl observed that “it’s a premier facility for the show, with an easy access location on Route 9W and large display rooms to accommodate our exhibitors.” Exhibits include lumber, siding, mortgage brokers, windows, doors, fireplaces, kitchens, contractor insurance, the latest in plumbing fixtures and lighting. Luke Regier of Lennar and President of the Builders Association says it’s a show no professional contractor should miss. “In addition to the displays, the Trade Show is a great opportunity to talk to other builders and members of the trade,” he said. “That way you stay up on what the competition is doing, how the market is in different areas of the Hudson Valley, and maybe even find another subcontractor or two for the next project!” The Builders Association of the Hudson Valley, Inc. is a 725+ member not-for-profit trade association serving the residential construction industry in Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Putnam and Westchester Counties since 1952. It is affiliated with the New York State Builders Association in Albany and the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, D.C. Exhibitor information is available by contacting the BAHV’s New Windsor office.
