Brass recital to feature trumpeter

WEST POINT-The United States Military Academy Band's Chamber Music Series will feature Master Sergeant Gregory Alley performing on trumpet, with The Regimental Brass Quintet, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, at the West Point Jewish Chapel. Themed "The British Invasion," the event will feature music by British composers Jeremiah Clarke, Edward Gregson, John Hartmann and Malcom Arnold. Alley with open the program accompanied by Dr. Ruthanne Schempf on piano. For the quintet portion, he will be assisted by Staff Sergeant Bryan Uhl on trumpet, Staff Sergeant Troy Messner on horn, Sergeant First Class Marty Tyce on trombone, and Master Sergeant Gerald Cates on tuba.
