Cornell Cooperative Extension's (CCE) Orange County “Bountiful Harvest Celebration Event” planned for Saturday, Sept. 17, is an evening celebrating sumptuous local foods prepared by culinary staff from Catherine’s of Goshen, and local brewed beverages. The event begins at 5 p.m., with social hour featuring old time arcade games. Corn Hole, Connect Four, Milk Jug Bean toss, horse drawn wagon rides and country line dancing will highlight the evening.
The focus of the celebration will be the “Local Celebrities Cow Milking Contest.” Four local residents have volunteered to participate in this event. Bill Fioravanti of Orange County Partnership, John Lavelle of RJ Smith Realty, Ginny Rizzo of Rizzi Moving and Storage, and Anna Gibbs of Keller Williams Realty Hudson Valley United will battle to see who takes home the “blue ribbon.”
Bountiful Harvest Celebration is an event to help raise awareness and funding for the building of the new “CCE Education Center and 4-H Park” which officially opened July 22, 2015. The “Education Center and 4-H Park” will help to continue serving thousands of youth and families each year within Orange County with educational programs that showcase excellent youth development, adult and family workshops and/or agriculturally focused opportunities on a year-round basis.
