Bodles to present blues, folk rock
Chester Blues guitarist and singer-songwriter, John Hammond, will perform at Bodles Opera House, Chester, on March 28. Hammond has been performing for more than 40 years and has released nearly 30 albums, his latest co-produced with Tom Waits. He has worked with Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and The Band, among others. His latest album is “Wicked Grin.” The show starts at 9 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for dinner. Admission is $20, advance and $22.50, day of show. On Saturday, March 29, Bodles will present Dan Navarro and Darden Smith. Navarro will perform folk-rock, while Smith, a Texas singer-songwriter, does folk-country-pop music. Smith’s latest album is “Field of Crows.” The show starts at 9 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for dinner. Admission is $15 advance, $17.50 at the door. Brianne Chasanoff, Amy Laber, and E’Lissa Jones will perform on March 30. A singer-songwriter, Chasanoff was the winner of Bodles’ 2007 Open Mic Summer Jam contest. She is a teacher from Danbury, Conn., and has performed at Woolsey Hall in New Haven and the Town Crier in Pawling, N.Y. Laver, of New Paltz, is a soulful singer whose music has been termed hypno-folk. From the Hudson Valley region, Jones is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, violinist, pianist, who sang background vocals with Wilson Pickett when he was touring with Ray Charles.
