Warwick —The Orange County Bicycle Club provides safe, non-competitive group bicycle rides nearly every day of the season from April through October. The club consists of riders of all cycling levels and age groups. Some ride for fitness, some for the social aspect, but all ride for fun. Club rides vary in length, pace and terrain, according to the ability of the riders. The schedule of rides (and contact numbers for each ride) is available on the club Web site, www.ocbicycleclub.org. Any guests with a working bicycle and an approved helmet is welcome to participate in any club activity. E-mail countryroads@ocbicycleclub.org, or call 351-5067 for more information. The Orange County Bicycle Club annual “Country Roads” charity bicycle tour will take place Sunday, Sept. 14, departing from Warwick High School. In addition to a 62-mile “metric century,” there will be medium rides (20- and 40-miles), short rides and kids’ rides (2- and 10-miles). Barbecue lunch after the ride is part of the package, along with full support, abundantly supplied rest stops, farm animals, raffles, music and entertainment. The proceeds will benefit the Orange County Land Trust and the Sanctuary for Animals. For more information e-mail countryroads@ocbicycleclub.org, or call 351-5067.
