Beatles tribute band comes to Goshen
GOSHEN-The Beatles tribute band "Twist & Shout" will bring their show to the historic First Presbyterian Church in Goshen sanctuary at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the church's operating budget. Twist & Shout played their very first Beatles show at the same church for a fundraiser in 1996. While the band has since become a regional concert hit, they continue to perform annual benefit shows for schools, foundations, awareness groups, and churches. The members of Twist & Shout guitarist Edward Kosowski of Long Island, bassist Craig Romano of Middletown, drummer Roger Vail of Walden, keyboardist Wayne George and keyboardist/guitarist Jon George, both from Washingtonville have recorded a half-dozen albums since the mid-70's and performed with top-name artists nationwide. "The music of The Beatles has survived its era and is still modern and timeless today," said Twist & Shout keyboardist Wayne George. "The benefit concerts on our schedule are always the best shows of the year. There's a special feeling in the air at the fundraisers. It's lots of people, all doing the right thing and coming together for great causes." Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors and children under 10 are free. They can be purchased in advance or at the door starting at 6 p.m. the day of the show. For more information, call the church office at 294-7991.
