Bear Mountain State Park hosts bird festival this Saturday

BEAR MOUNTAIN Trailside Museums and Zoo, located at Bear Mountain State Park, will celebrate the birds of New York State this coming Saturday, Aug. 4, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The zoo has many native birds on exhibit, such as the bald eagle, great horned owl and black vultures. The bird festival also will feature child-friendly activities such as The Great Migration Challenge, Bird Olympics, Bird Hurdles and other educational games and activities. Admission for the zoo is free, although donations are welcomed. There is an $8 parking fee at Bear Mountain State Park.
