Ballet theater to perform ‘Midsummer Night's Dream'

Middletown — The Warwick Ballet Theatre will be performing the ballet, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at 7 p.m., on Saturday, May 28 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, at the Paramount Theatre in Middletown. This classically choreographed ballet is set to the music of F. Mendelssohn, with Shakespearian flair. It takes place in the woodlands complete with fairies, nymphs, and butterflies. The beautifully costumed ballet tells a story of young love and the antics of the non-mortal creatures that surround them. Warwick Ballet Theatre is the official company of the Dancer’s Studio of Warwick. The ballet includes more than 60 of the studio’s most talented students, along with the WBT company and guest artists from various ballet companies. The lead roles are played by the theater’s principal dancers including, Jillian Conjura, Rebecca Distler, Alison Dripchak, Arianna Henry, Justine Jacobsen, Brittany Raniere, and Jillian Davis with WBT alumni Isabel Fernandez, Alina Grzegorzewski, Jacqueline Mosca. The production is choreographed and staged by the director, Lucinda Henry, with Melissa Padham, who is an instructor at the studio as well as a WBT alumnus and company member of the Darrah Carr Dance Company and Forces of Nature.
