Ballet Coppelia' at the Paramount
Middletown The Warwick Ballet Theater will be performing the ballet “Coppelia” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, at the Paramount Theater at 17 South St. in Middletown. “Coppelia” is a ballet in three acts, with Hungarian folk dances and costumes in the first act, changing to classical ballet divertissement in the third act. Warwick Ballet Theater is the official company of The Dancer’s Studio and Warwick Center for the Arts on Wheeler Avenue in Warwick. The company includes Arianna Henry, Alison Dripchak, Regina Barlet, Jillian Conjura, Justine Jacobsen, Michelle Napolitano, Brittany Raniere, Amanda Gallagher, Jillian Davis, Rebbecca Distler, and Jacqueline Mosca. The members dance the lead roles and are partnered with professional dancers from around the country for this performance. Traditional and original choreography from both the director of the company, Lucinda Henry, and the assistant choreographer, Melissa Padham, adds freshness and sparkle to the story of two young lovers and an eccentric toymaker. The production will introduce young ballet dancers from the Dancer’s Studio school, portraying the toymaker’s toys in act two and the third act’s corp.
