Aug. 28 recital to benefit

    Kirk Scholarship program Central Valley - Heather Curtis, a Boston-Conservatory trained mezzo sopranoa, will be giving a benefit recital concert on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 7:30 at the Sapphire Elementary School. Curtis will be singing a program of love songs and standards by Cole Porter, Gershwin and Bernstein to benefit the Kirk Memorial Scholarship of the Woodbury Historical Society. She will be accompanied on piano by Smith Clove Elementary School music teacher Kaarin Record. The contribution of $10 per ticket will go to support the Kirk Scholarship, of which Curtis was a recipient in 1995. For more information, call 928-2613.
