Actors, young dancers and tech staff sought Warwick — The Illustrious Theatre Company will hold auditions for its outdoor summer production of “Romeo and Juliet,” which will be presented at the Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery the last three weekends in July. Rehearsals will begin the first week of June. A cast of 25 actors and actresses are sought for this Shakespeare In The Orchard production. Director Mary Clifford and choreographer Carol Chave also plan to incorporate a chorus of dancers into the play, and are seeking male and female dancers in their early teens through early 20’s, with some ballet or modern dance experience. They may also play roles within the play, and ultimately act as the chorus who “narrate” the piece. The audition will consist of readings from the script at 7:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, May 15 and 16, at The Kids Clubhouse at 628 County Route 1 in Pine Island. Those interested in the dancing element will be asked to learn a brief combination. The company also seeks technical staff, and an experienced technical director, a paid position. For more information, call Mary Clifford at 973-764-4936 or write to theitc@warwick.net.
