Auction benefiting Sri Lankan children to be held Saturday
TUXEDO-The auction of Sri Lankan children's drawings will take place this Saturday at the Tuxedo Library. The drawings will be auctioned with the proceeds going to help children in need after the tsunami ravaged south Asia last December. That massive show of Mother Nature's power killed 275,000 people. Dr. Nilufer Clubwala, a pediatric doctor in Monroe and Orange County resident, brought the drawings back from the Sri Lanka. The drawings, some crude, others detailed, depict some of the devastation and lost these children experienced. Clubwala is head of the auction which is called, The Tsunami Children's Art Project. The auction will be held Saturday, July 30, at 3 p.m., at the Tuxedo Park Library. The library is located at 227 Route 17 in Tuxedo Park. In addition to the auction, Clubwala will discuss the events in Sri Lanka and deliver a slide-show. The library phone number is (845) 351-2207. Clubwala can be reached at nclubwala@frontiernet.net.
