Woodbury Free Library The Woodbury Public Library’s program, “Woodbury Reads! 2007,” features the book, “North Star Conspiracy,” by Miriam Grace Monfredo. Set in Seneca Falls in 1854, this mystery tells the story of a mid-19th century librarian and her efforts to help a young fugitive slave escape on the Underground Railroad. Programs will be held at the library’s Highland Mills branch: Sunday, March 4, 3 p.m. “Let’s talk.” An adult book discussion of “North Star Conspiracy.” Friday, March 9, 7 p.m. Local history night will include a discussion of the Underground Railroad in the area. Sunday, March 18, 3 p.m. “Woodbury Reads! 2007” finale will feature historical Interpreter Trish Chambers as she shows a Freedom Quilt and discusses quilts as a method of communications.
