Florida - The following is a list of programs in November and December events at the Florida Public Library. Residents can register in person or by calling the library at 651-7659. On Saturday, Dec. 9, listen to the great American songs of Gershwin, Porter, Mercer and more by Joe Karr and his piano accompaniment at the library at 2 p.m. For teens, adults and seniors. For kids: Books & Beyond: Legends of Faraway Places, Tuesdays at 4 p.m. for kids in grades K-5. No registration. Nov. 28 - Read and learn about the legend of the Indian Paintbrush from the Lakota Indians. Paint a sunset vision. Dec. 5 - Read and learn about the Magic Bean Tree story from Argentina, then craft a bean mosaic. Dec. 12 - Read “The Sea King’s Daughter,” a Russian tale. Create watercolor waves. Saturday Matinee: Enjoy snacks and the Curious George Movie on our big screen. For kids in grades K-5, Saturday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. Gingerbread Kids: Add fun and festive decorations to freshly baked giant gingerbread kids. For kids in grades K-5, Saturday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. For young adults: YA Discovery for young adults in grades 6-12, Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28 - Anime and Manga Club Dec. 5 - Learn to cook two kinds of chili - vegetarian and meat. Dec. 12 - Create a sparkling sun catcher. For adults: Holiday Tablescaping, Saturday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. with professional caterer Katie Cooks. Tips from a pro on how to create dramatic tablescapes to showcase your home cooked holiday meals.
