Arts awards winners offer exhibit at gallery

GOSHEN-Ten county artists who won Orange County Day “Arts Awards” will be exhibiting their art at the Executive Suite Gallery in Goshen from Thursday, Oct. 13, to Tuesday, Nov. 22. In its tenth year, Orange County Day celebrated the arts, history, and culture of the county. “Be a tourist in your own community” was its slogan. Dorothy Szefc, the director of cultural affairs at SUNY Orange, and Midge Bremer coordinated this year’s contest. Artists who will be exhibiting are Lynne Digby, Best in Show; Susan Miller, 2nd place; Matilda Grech, 3rd place; Richard Weber, 4th place. Special awards went to Judith Beringer Hraniotis and Arlene Joyce Roorda. Colleen Morris, Stephen Blumenthal, Mary Mugele Sealfon, and Anne Riblett all received Honorable Mentions. The Executive Suite Gallery, on the 3rd floor of the Orange County Government Center at 255 Main St. in Goshen, is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
