Art of Broadway Choreography' at Neversink Museum

Cuddebackville The Neversink Valley Area Museum continues to help visitors uncover the secrets of artisans and creative professionals from a variety of trades with its series of talks called “The Art of.” On Sunday, June 10, local resident and Tony-award-nominated choreographer Larry Fuller will discuss how he gets Broadway’s brightest stars on their feet and moving. Larry Fuller choreographed the original Broadway productions of Evita, Sweeney Todd, On the Twentieth Century, Merrily We Roll Along and A Doll’s Life. He directed and choreographed “Gotta Getaway” at Radio City Music Hall, has twice staged both the Tony and Emmy Awards television broadcasts, and directed the off-Broadway musical, Love, plus two off-Broadway plays. Fuller has worked extensively in Europe, directing the first European productions of “Candide,” “Girl Crazy,” and “On the Town,” four German productions of “West Side Story” and the Stuttgart Ballet production of “On Your Toes.” In London, he directed and choreographed the hits “Marilyn: The Musical” and “Time.” He worked on the films, “A Little Night Music,” with Elizabeth Taylor and “The Boarding School,” starring Nastassja Kinski. Fuller’s recent projects include directing the new national Tour of “Evita,” musical staging the National Tour of “Jekyll and Hyde,” and directing and choreographing the world premiere of “J.F.K.: A Musical Drama.” “Anyone who loves going to musicals or ever hopes to be in one should not miss this event,” said museum executive director Seth Goldman. “This will be a rare opportunity to hear and meet one of the most respected professionals working in musical theater today.” “The Art of Broadway Choreography” will be held at the D&H Canal Park Visitor’s Center, 58 Hoag Road (just off Route 209) in Cuddebackville.
