Town of Hamptonburgh — The Friends of the Orange County Arboretum will host a garden tea party, at the Ruth and Jim Ottaway Education Center, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 10. Advance reservations are $20 per person. “Each table will be uniquely adorned with delicate linens and fine china, lovingly loaned for the day by generous supporters of the arboretum. The assortment of teas and sumptuous, sweet and savory finger foods, served by volunteers will certainly excite your palate,” said Patricia LeClair, garden tea co-chair and Town of Newburgh resident. Dora Wright, co-chair, master gardener and Town of New Windsor resident added, “Flowers and prizes will add a touch of fun to this afternoon delight with its setting of raised gardens, pathways, water features and impressive September 11th Remembrance Walkway and Gardens. This year’s goal is to raise $10,000 to help support the majestic seasonal floral and specimen tree displays.” The Garden Tea Party is sponsored by the Friends of the Orange County Arboretum, Inc., in cooperation with the Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. The Arboretum is located in the Thomas Bull Memorial Park, Grove St., off Route 416, Town of Hamptonburgh. For information or reservations, call Paula M. Gorton at 457-4902.
