Appreciation for those who served

The Monroe Historical Society will sponsor its annual “Appreciation to Veterans” on Saturday, April 12, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Monroe Senior Center on Mine Road in Monroe. Veterans will be invited to speak and talk about their experiences in war and peace. If you are a veteran, it is not necessary to speak; members of the Monroe Historical Society simply want to offer their thanks. Ron Orts of Rolling Thunder will be the guest speaker; he will discuss the role of Rolling Thunder and its help to veterans, MIA’s and fundraising for these causes. The meeting is open to the general public, so please attend and support those veterans who proudly served their country. Refreshments will be served. For further information call Holly Dean-Oser at 726-3292 or Jim Nelson 783-3406.
