Warwick - First it was Snow White and her seven dwarfs, then Charlotte and Wilbur, and most recently, the Lion and the White Witch. Now Aladdin and his friends are the newest characters to burst onto the great stage at Warwick Valley High School. Continuing with its highly successful family theater series, the Warwick Valley High School Drama Club will present a live production of “Aladdin” this November. This non-musical version by William Glennon is adapted from the classic tale of “The Arabian Nights.” The production has all of the characters that families have come to know and love, including Aladdin, his dancing monkey sidekick, Toodle-de-Toos, the evil sorcerer, Zorah, the beautiful Princess, and the magical genies of the lamp and ring. Throughout the show, there will be spells, potions, and reversals of fortune as Aladdin discovers the magic of the lamp and his love for the Princess, and finally outwits the crafty Zorah. Told in grand style by Scheherazade, the story-teller herself, “Aladdin” is sure to be a hit for the entire family. “Aladdin” will be performed on Friday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 18, at 1 and 7 p.m. Tickets will go on sale Monday, Oct. 30, at 8 a.m., and can be reserved by calling the Drama Club’s ticket reservation line at 987-3050, voice mail box 4100. Tickets are $7 for general admission and $5 for children ten and under and for senior citizens. In keeping with the Drama Club’s tradition, after each performance the characters will be out for a meet and greet session with all audience members, so parent should plan to bring pens for autographs and cameras for photos.
