Music festival planned to benefit veterans with PTSDPOUGHKEEPSIE — We Have Your 6, a component fund of the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan, in partnership with Friends of Fallen Heroes NY, will host a music festival on Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Changepoint Theater in Poughkeepsie to benefit Veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
The festival will feature musical guest Kristen Capolino Mondial IV for a night of the music of Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana with special guest Gerardo Velez, previously a member of Jimi Hendrix “Band of Gypsys.”
Also appearing will be Ashes of The Phoenix and The Family Friendly Criminals.
Tickets are $20 and available for purchase at www.cfosny.org. Doors open at 7 p.m.

DUSKLIT organizers need helpSUGAR LOAF — Sixty-four artists will exhibit 38 installations and performances at DUSKLIT, an annual communitywide arts festival, at the Seligman Center in Sugar Loaf on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 6 to 11 p.m. Aug. 11.
Iin order for the event to be successful, organizers need volunteers.
Opportunities include assisting with set up, managing box office sales, directing parking and tending bar.
Volunteers get perks, including free event admission and extra goodies.
The festival includes food and drink vendors.
With the exception of one step at the Guest House, the entire area is fully accessible. Parking will be free.

'Shakespeare in the Gardens' on Aug. 4GOSHEN — Join Cornerstone Theatre Arts for "Shakespeare in the Gardens," a leisurely stroll through beautiful gardens in full bloom while listening to classical music.
Stop to watch a Shakespearean love scene or two, hear a sonnet (or three), and enjoy a glass of wine and other light refreshments on a summer afternoon in Goshen.
The event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 220 Arcadia Road. From the Village of Goshen, take 17M toward Chester to Arcadia Road, make a right turn at the light, and go straight 1.2 miles. The house is on the right.

Florida’s Fun Fest set for Aug. 12FLORIDA — Celebrate summer in the Village of Florida at Fun Fest beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12.
Food, rides for children and vendors showcasing their wares will be available to visitors who explore Main Street and the area by S.S. Seward Institute.
DJ "Nat the Cat" will MC, and this year's performers will include The Matt Mulhare Band, The Somerville Brothers, Tangent and Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra.

Taste of Warwick coming to townWARWICK — The best of the Warwick Valley’s dining, drinking and music offerings will proliferate at this year’s Taste of Warwick, to be held Sept. 17 on the grounds of the Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery from 6 to 9 p.m. The rain date is Sept. 18.
Early bird pricing - $50 per person - ends Aug. 31. After that date, tickets are $60 per person
