Historical Society to host a rare glimpse of Indian enslavement in Orange CountyWARWICK — The Albert Wisner Public Library will host Chester Historian Clifton Patrick and researcher Ginny Privitar on Sunday, March 4, at 1 p.m., to discuss the enslavement of Native Americans here in Orange County in the early colonial period.
They will present evidence discovered by Ray Decker, give context of the times, and further research inspired by this discovery.

Congregation Eitz Chaim is sponsoring a goods and services auction on March 11MONROE — Congregation Eitz Chaim, located at 1465 Orange Turnpike in Monroe, is sponsoring a goods and services auction on Sunday, March 11, at 5 p.m.
More than 100 items will be available at a silent and regular auction.
A professional auctioneer will be presenting services of local chefs, artists, doctors, CPAs and teachers in addition to many items donated by local businesses.
Local restaurant gift cards will be available on a first-come first-served basis.
Refreshments will be served.

Friends of the Arboretum sponsoring bus trip to Capital District Garden and Flower ShowGOSHEN — The Friends of the Orange County Arboretum are hosting a bus trip to the Capital District Garden and Flower Show in Troy on Saturday, March 24th.
Highlights at the Garden and Flower Show will include garden exhibits, floral competitions, lectures and workshops, exhibitors with plants, bulbs, flowers and seeds available for purchase, tastings with New York State wineries, soil testing by Cornell Cooperative Extension with a minimum donation of $1, plant society and educational booths, tips and trends and live cooking and flower demonstrations.
There is also a Garden Café onsite for lunch.
The cost of the trip is $58 per person and includes transportation and admission. The bus will leave the Arboretum at 8:30 a.m. and return by 6 p.m.
