A visual journal
Warwick The Albert Wisner Public Library will host a sketching workshop with artist Janet Howard-Fatta from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 11. The workshop is open to residents of the Warwick Valley School district, including adults and students in sixth grade and above. Keeping a sketchbook is one way of creating a visual journal, and to store simple visual representations of ideas and concepts. In this hour and a half workshop, participants will learn sketchbook conceptsuch as thumbnails, drawing from life techniques, and other resources. Participants should bring a sketchbook, pens or pencils, as well as a kneaded eraser and a blending tool, such as a chamois or a stump. Painter Fatta holds a bachelor in fine arts from Pratt Institute. She is the coordinator for the Woodlanders Gathering arts event that takes place in August. Fatta lives in Warwick with her two children and husband, sculptor Louis Fatta. As space is limited, registration is required. Stop by the library at 2 Colonial Ave in Warwick, or call 986-1047 to register.
