WARWICK — The Warwick Dance Collective will present the ballet, “A Midsummer Night's Dream,” directed by Melissa Padham-Maass of the Warwick Center for the Performing Arts on June 9 at 2 and 7 p.m. at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center in Sugar Loaf.
The ballet’s choreography was created by Lucinda Henry, Melissa Padham-Maass, Madelyn Eltringham and Tami Small.
The ballet is taken from Shakespeare’s play and Mendelssohn’s musical score of the same name. Dancers will weave through a love triangle as they frolic in the forest where they spend the night as victims of fairies’ pranks and enchantments, according to organizers.
The Warwick Dance Collective, a Warwick ballet and contemporary dance company, performs under the direction of Padham-Maass at the Warwick Center for the Performing Arts.
Since 2017, the Warwick Dance Collective has been bringing professional dance performances to the Hudson Valley through full length productions, arts in education programming, showcases in the center’s Black Box Theater and public performances and festivals.
Tickets are $20 each and are sold in advance by visiting: WarwickPerformingArts.Eventbrite.com.
