A mammoth view of evolution
Middletown The dinosaurs will storm the stage during the production of “Mammoth Follies,” a children’s theatre performance by the Hudson Vagabond Puppets. The event will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, at Orange Hall Theater at Orange County Community College. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and alumni, $3 for children, and free for SUNY Orange students. Group rates are available. The folly explores the wonders of evolution in an old-fashioned revue of original songs, witty jokes, and earth-smashing dances performed by giant dinosaur puppets. The program will dramatize historic and scientific facts, as well as some myths, about the great age of the dinosaur. Prior to the production, from 1 to 2 p.m., playgoers may visit “Sugar,” the real mastodon whose skeleton is on exhibit in the lobby of the Bio-Tech Building, just down the walk from Orange Hall.
