‘A ‘Hudson Valley Holiday' performed by Military Academy band on Dec. 15 and 16

    West Point—The United States Military Academy Band, under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Holtan, continues an eagerly anticipated tradition with “A Hudson Valley Holiday” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15. and again at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16 in West Point’s Eisenhower Hall Theatre. For the second straight year, the show will feature guest actor Jay Montgomery. Montgomery’s credits include appearing as Whizzer in Falsettos on Broadway and on television in Riptide, Baywatch, and Melrose Place. Also featured as guest vocalist will be Kevin McKelvy. A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, McKelvy has been featured in national commercials for Wendy’s, MTV, and in HBO’s The Sopranos as U.S. Marshal Lunt. Returning to the performance are the Estelle and Alfonso Dancers. The United States Military Academy Band will play its traditional role of providing musical accompaniment. The Academy band’s own Sergeants First Class Mary Kay Messenger and Laura Bradley will sing, including new arrangements by staff arranger Master Sergeant Douglas Richard and other members of the Academy band. The show includes holiday favorites such as The Nutcracker Suite as well as newer songs by Mariah Carey and Diana Krall. The event will include an audience sing-along of well-loved carols and an appearance from ol’ St. Nick.
