Music in Central Valley presents Kairos: A Consort of Singers on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 3 p.m. Under the direction of Dr. Edward Lundergan with harpist Elizabeth Panzer in a concert of seasonal music, the program will include Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols in its original version for women’s voices along with works by Dufay, Biebl, Handl, Howells and Poulenc. The Kairos singers are recognized for their outstanding Bach Cantata Series performances and for performances of works into the twentieth century. They have appeared with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, with the Bach Festival Orchestra and with members of the Hudson Valley String Quartet. In 2005 Kairos Consort of Singers became artists-in-residence at Holy Cross Monastery where they regularly offer concerts in that chapel throughout the year. The concert is free to students with a suggestion donation at the door for adults. The church is handicapped accessible and is located at 12 Smith Clove Road in Central Valley.
