Goshen — Getting the name of the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame into the Guinness Book of World Records is getting closer to reality. Thanks to the museum's many supporters, the museum’s Christmas tree now carries 434 ornaments. Each has a horse theme: there are rocking horses, jumping horses, Santa horses, weathervane horses, and — best of all — a harness racing driver and Standardbred hooked to a sulky. The Winner’s Circle Gift Shop at the museum carries hand-painted glass balls featuring trotters and pacers hooked to sulkies, along with other horse-related ornaments. The museum is located at 240 Main St. in Goshen and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last tour 4 p.m.). Thanks to U.S. Trotting Association support, the museum is currently offering free admission for walk-in visitors and $4 per person for group docent-guided tours.
