19th Century Thanksgiving

    Open hearth cooking at Museum Village MONROE — Museum Village will hold a 19th Century Thanksgiving from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19 and 20. The staff will offer a 19th century version of today’s popular holiday. They will be cooking a traditional dinner over the open hearth, and offering a sampling of the results. Children will be able to make crafts at a variety of the village’s buildings. The 19th century will come to life with costumed interpreters at the broom shop, schoolhouse, candle shop, wagon shop, print shop, weaver’s hut and log cabin. The day is designed for the entire family. Admission will be $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for children, and free of charge for members.
