    In response to the story “Warwick police save mother and baby from life-threatening dog attack” that appeared on wwarwickadvertiser.com late last week, reader Peter wrote the following online comment:

    I know the family involved in this horrible incident, and it was the miraculous responses of the 3 young women that prevented this out of control dog from doing even greater physical damage to the baby and the 3 women; this is not to say that the injuries sustained were not serious enough. They were, and, the emotional aftermath. But, had it not been for the protective instinct and power of those 3, this would have a true and much sadder tragedy. Then, within minutes, the police came in and were perfect! Just perfect. They are to be highly commended. Remember that when we hear stories about “bad cops!’ They were wonderful!
