VFW moves and thanks to Wadeson’s

| 13 Jun 2019 | 03:12

The Warwick Valley VFW Post 4662 has moved to a new location. Its previous location at
10 Colonial Ave. in the Village of Warwick was closed on May 15 and a new location is being prepared for us.
The new location is at 4 Overlook Drive in the building complex across from the Park Ave. Elementary School on Route 17A.
Further announcements will be made upon completion and occupation of our new facility.
In the interim, our message service is always available for veterans who need their issues addressed.
We can be reached at 845 988-8387. A VFW Post officer will respond to their call.
In anticipation of the move from 10 Colonial Ave., a call was made to Wadeson Home Center on Forrester Avenue in order to arrange for a U-Haul truck.
After a brief discussion of our requirements Craig Wadeson volunteered his time and his brand new trailer for our use.
On the day of the move Mr. Wadeson arrived with his trailer and two employees who assisted us in loading the post’s belongings onto the trailer and delivering them to our new location for unloading.
Mr. Wadeson went the extra mile - and then some - for our post and we are forever grateful.
When a call was made to suggest a donation for his efforts, Mr. Wadeson’s response was: “I think you boys have already made enough 'donations' to the rest of us.”
It also must be noted that Craig answered the call for us when we needed a truck and driver for the Memorial Day Parade. The wagon, donated by the Pennings Farm, was used for veterans who could not march and Craig, once again, donated his time and pickup truck to drive the wagon for the parade.
It is this spirit of giving back to the community and to veterans which makes our great Village and Town of Warwick a special place to live.
A sincere thank you goes out to the Wadeson’s for their support and assistance.
