Supervisor: Town beach, playground equipment and parks are now open

| 22 Jun 2020 | 03:04

By now we should be in Phase III and the Town Hall, as of June 23, is now open to the public.

You will see some physical changes in the departments, and you are asked to wear a mask when visiting. This will keep both you and our employees safe.

Industries now open under Phase III are food services with 50 percent indoor capacity and personal care businesses, like nail salons.

The public is asked to please respect the rules that the businesses have in place, as this protects them from state-imposed violations of the distancing guidelines. We all want to avoid more draconian restrictions, so let’s just all do our part.

Congratulations to all the Warwick, Florida and Greenwood Lake students who are graduating this year. You have been remarkable in keeping your chins up when all the excitement of senior year was abruptly taken from you by the pandemic.

We are proud of all of you and wish you much success in the years ahead.

Our playground equipment and bathrooms in our parks are once again open. They are sanitized daily and signage, as per the Orange County Department of Health, is in place to ensure your safety. Please abide by the guidelines so these facilities can remain open for everyone’s enjoyment.

The Town Beach at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park is now open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for Warwick Town residents only (this, of course, includes Florida, Greenwood Lake and Warwick Village residents). The beach area is limited to 50 percent occupancy initially while the Town and Village monitor how beach goers observe our social gathering regulations. Season passes can be obtained from the Warwick Town Clerk by calling 986-1124.

The NYS and Orange County Departments of Health have imposed strict guidelines that staff and beach goers will need to follow, so your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
