Warwick area student newsmakers
Mary Jane Di Stasio, a graduate of Warwick Valley High School's Class of 2000, graduated from State University of New York at Geneseo on May 8. Di Stasio graduated summa cum laude having achieved a 4.0 average with two majors, English and Economics. She received the Hans Gottschalk Memorial Award as outstanding English major and the Omicron Delta Epsilon award for Outstanding Senior in Economics, along with both College and Departmental Honors in Economics. Mary has been inducted into Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society, its first year at Geneseo. Mary, daughter of Michael and Joan Di Stasio of Warwick, received a scholarship award for Georgetown University Masters Program for Public Policy and Economics. She will be attending Georgetown in August. Ken Sherwood of Warwick has graduated from Plattsburgh State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and minor in English. Warwick residents Jane Bacon, Corey Shoock and William Kittel, Jr., have been named to the Dean's List at the University of Buffalo. Goucher College sophomore Bronwyn Taylor of Warwick has been named to the Dean's List. Justin McEdward of Warwick was one of 123 students in the Recreation, Adventure Travel and Ecotourism program at Paul Smith' College who traveled to Costa Rica in January as part of the course curriculum. Kelly Lynne Ryan of Warwick graduated cum laude on May 15 from Villanova University's College of Commerce and Finance with a major in finance. Ryan will be employed by KPMG, Inc., as an associate valuation manager in Philadelphia, beginning in July.
